Martin Luther Child Care (MLCC) has been an important part of the Etobicoke, Toronto, community for over 50 years, and has seen generations of children grow up within its walls – the organization has grown with them, and the community, over the years steadily increasing in numbers and adding programs since 1970. MLCC incorporated as a not for profit in September 2001. All programs are licensed by the Ministry of Education.
The early years is a truly critical time with regards to children’s development, and it is during these early years that the foundation for lifelong learning is established. At Martin Luther Child Care (MLCC) we strive to provide a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment for children to grow, explore and have fun! All children are valued for their uniqueness and range of abilities and approaches to learning. The knowledgeable and trained educators at MLCC provide programs and plan daily activities to meet the needs of each individual child placed in our care. This is accomplished by providing an inclusive environment and a play-based, emergent curriculum where each child is viewed as individuals who are all competent, capable and rich in potential.
Consistent with our own vision, mission and values, MLCC has chosen and been approved to participate in the CWELCC program, to support our own families, staff and community to: provide high quality early learning and child care programs; provide affordable and inclusive programs for children and families in our community; promote the sustainability and expansion of high quality, licensed child care spaces and access to those in the community; and, support and protect the early childhood educators and early childhood workforce.
