The educators at Martin Luther Child Care are not only educated in the area of early childhood development and education, but are also experienced and bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to our programs and services. Our Educators are knowledgeable, reflective, resourceful and rich in experience. The goals and expectations for the educators are to provide the best experiences and outcomes for all children, families, programs and co-educators. To cultivate and nourish an environment, programs and relationships that are authentic, caring, and respectful; and, where these connections create a sense of belonging among and between children, educators, and families.
Educator’s Qualifications
Every program is led by two Registered Early Childhood Educators (RECE’s), who have either a diploma and/or a university degree in Early Childhood Education, OR one at least one RECE who is supported by at an Early Childhood Assistant (ECA). The Supervisor is also an experienced RECE. All employees, including office staff, as well as board members, volunteers and placement students must provide a clear vulnerable sector police reference check dated within the previous 6 months of starting in their role. Employees, volunteers, and students must also provide an up to date immunization records as per the Ministry of Education requirements, and have a valid Standard First Aid and CPR-C (infant,child,adult). Board members and employees (including volunteers and students) are required to sign a confidentiality agreement and familiarize themselves with all of the policies and procedures of the organization prior to beginning their work with the children (or joining the board).
